Veterinary Referral

Why Is a Veterinary Referral Required?

As veterinary physiotherapists, we work under the guidelines of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, which means we must receive formal consent from your vet before treating your animal if they have a diagnosed condition. This ensures that physiotherapy is safe, appropriate, and fully integrated with your dog or horse’s medical care.

Collaborating with your vet helps us:

  • Understand your animal’s medical history and diagnosis
  • Ensure there are no contraindications to treatment
  • Develop a physiotherapy plan that complements ongoing veterinary care
  • Maintain high standards of animal welfare and professional accountability

Please note that we do not require veterinary consent for maintenance treatments.
